Is the Free plan really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with no end date and no card. It includes unlimited reservations, waitlist parties and covers, email confirmations and reminders, texts for the first 25 parties each month, online ordering, and 60 phone agent minutes to try once. Your booking page shows a small bavoli badge. You pay when you want more texts, card holds and no-show fees, your own domain, or the phone agent.

What counts as a texted party?

A party is one reservation or one waitlist entry. It counts once each calendar month (UTC), the first time a text to it is accepted for sending, however many texts it gets after that. A text that fails when we try to send it doesn't count. Order updates, alerts to you and your staff, and sign-in codes are outside your monthly texts.

What happens when I use up my monthly texts?

Guests can still book and join the waitlist. On Plus and Pro we email you at 80% and again at 100%, and guests keep getting every text until you reach 150% of your plan's amount. After that, each new party gets only the essential texts: the table-ready text, the reservation reminder, and notices about a card hold, a no-show fee or a closure. On Plus, that means every text for up to 750 parties and the essential texts for up to 1,500. Past that, guests follow along by email and on their live status page until the next month. There is also a daily limit: each day, your first 150 new parties get every text (300 on Pro, or 150 in Germany and the Netherlands), and new parties after that get only the essential texts for the rest of the day. On Free, the first 25 parties get texts and the rest get email and the status page.

What is the Event pass?

A one-time $150 pass for a pop-up, a festival, or a month that runs far busier than usual. For 30 days, once your plan's texts are used up, it sends the essential texts (the table-ready text, the reservation reminder, and notices about a card hold, a no-show fee or a closure) to up to 10,000 more parties in the US (fewer in countries where each message costs more). It works on any plan, including Free, and it doesn't renew.

How does the phone agent add-on work?

It costs $50 a month, or $500 a year, on any plan and includes 300 minutes of AI answering each month. Calls under 15 seconds and calls screened as spam don't count. When the AI minutes run out, calls forward to a number you choose, which has to be a different phone from the line you forward to bavoli, for up to 1,000 minutes a month. Those minutes cover every call bavoli forwards to you, including calls the agent transfers. After that, callers hear your hours and your booking link. Every plan, including Free, comes with 60 minutes, once, so you can hear it work. Without the add-on or free minutes left, a bavoli phone number that gets no calls for 14 days is released, and we email you before that happens. The add-on is for restaurants in the US and Canada, and in Australia, Spain and Portugal once a one-time business registration is approved.

Question 6

Which plans have card holds and no-show fees?

Plus and Pro. Card holds and no-show fees run through Stripe, so they need Stripe to work in your country, which it doesn't yet in Saudi Arabia. If you move to Free later, holds you already placed are still honored.

Does bavoli work for businesses that aren't restaurants?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Paint-your-own studios, barbershops, salons, activity venues and other places where groups book a time or wait for a spot use the same Free, Plus and Pro plans, with the same texts and prices. You get a booking page, an online waitlist where each guest follows their place on a live status page, texts and email to guests, a guest book and a website. Card holds and no-show fees come with Plus where Stripe works in your country, and your own domain comes with Pro.

What's different for businesses that aren't restaurants?

The phone agent, menus and online ordering are built for restaurants, so they stay off for other businesses, and the Free plan's 60 phone agent minutes don't apply. bavoli seats parties at tables and runs a walk-in line. It doesn't keep a separate appointment calendar for each staff member or a menu of services with prices and durations. Everything else on this page works the same way.

Do you charge in my currency?

Plans are priced in US dollars, Canadian dollars, Australian dollars, pounds, euros and Saudi riyals, before sales tax or VAT. Everywhere else pays in US dollars. Paid plans and the Free plan are open in every country. The phone agent works in the US and Canada, and in Australia, Spain and Portugal after a one-time business registration. Guests outside the US and Canada get the one message that matters on WhatsApp and the rest by email. In Germany and the Netherlands, where WhatsApp costs more, Plus texts 250 parties a month, Pro texts 750, and the daily limit is 150 new parties on every plan.

What happens before November 1, 2026?

Every restaurant is on Pro free until November 1, 2026, with Pro's monthly texts for 1,500 parties (750 in Germany and the Netherlands), and restaurants that already have a bavoli phone number keep the phone agent free until then. You can pick a plan any time, and if you pick one before October 30, 2026, you won't be charged until November 1. On November 1, restaurants that haven't picked a plan move to Free and keep all their data.

Question 11

Is there a contract?

Accepted Answer

No. Pay monthly, or yearly and get 2 months free. Cancel any time under Plan and billing in Settings, and your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then you're on Free with all your data. If a payment fails, you keep your plan for 14 days while you fix it. You only add a card when you choose a paid plan, the phone agent or an Event pass.

Do you sell my guest data?

Accepted Answer

No. Your guest list belongs to you. Export it as CSV any time, and take it with you if you ever leave.
